Our Stone Floor Stripping Process
Safe, Effective Removal of Old Sealants, Waxes & Build Up
We begin by inspecting the floor to identify :
Here's how our expert stripping process works
Inspection & Testing
-
The type of stone or tile
-
Existing coatings (e.g wax, acrylic, polymer)
-
Condition of the surface. We then carry out a small test patch to determine the safest and most effective stripping method.
Over time, stone and tile floors can become dull or discoloured due to layers of old sealers, polishes, or wax based coatings. At Masons Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Ltd we offer a professional floor stripping service to restore your floor to its clean, natural state - ready for polishing and resealing.
Application of Stripping Solution
We apply a specialist stripping agent, carefully chosen for your floor type. This breaks down old layers of sealer, wax, or polish without damaging the stone underneath
Agitation Using Rotary Machine
Using low-speed rotary machines with stripping pads, we mechanically agitate the surface to lift and dissolve the old coating. Edges and grout lines are scrubbed by hand.
Rinsing & Neutralisation
We allow the floor to dry fully and inspect it to ensure all build up has been removed. If necessary a second pass is completed.
Your flooring is now ready for a polish and seal

How often should stone floors be resealed?
We generally recommend resealing every 12 months depending on foot traffic, stone type, and previous maintenance. High-traffic areas like kitchens or hallways may need resealing more often.
Can you remove scratches, etch marks, stains or dull spots from stone flooring?
Yes, we use specialist diamond polishing pads and machines to remove scratches, dullness, stains and acid etching. This process restores a smooth, glossy or matte finish depending on your preference.
